Island Country Markets in Coconut Marketplace   A 3-minute walk from the condo, Island Country Markets offers takeaway salads, deli items, sandwiches, wine, and more. They also sell a few basic groceries, medical and toiletry necessities.  For souvenir shopping, we like their selection of local Kauai products like soaps and body care items.

Long’s Drugs A 10-minute walk from the condo, about 1 mile up the road, ocean on your right. They have inexpensive beach mats, snacks, basic grocery essentials, and a full assortment of any pharmacy items you may need.

Safeway and Big Save are both right up the road (ocean on your right) about a mile north of Islander on the Beach. They are relatively large grocery stores.

Papaya’s Natural Foods Think of this as a tiny, local Whole Foods in Kapa’a.  Up the road about a mile heading north, ocean on your right.

Walmart and Costco are both located about 20 minutes drive away in Lihue (south, toward the airport).  Surprisingly, Walmart offers a good selection of Hawaiian souvenirs.
